Refusal to provide medical services to pregnant women

Kateryna, a pregnant girl with HIV-positive status, complained at her dentist. During a routine examination, the doctor saw in the client’s medical record that she has an HIV status. In an open manner, he then began to discuss this information with his nurse in the client’s presence. He insulted Kateryna, laughed at her, and ultimately refused to provide the girl with the necessary medical care.

After this situation, Kateryna decided to turn to the REActor from “Positive Women”. The documentator provided initial legal advice and, together with the client, urgently appealed to the chief doctor of the dental clinic. According to the results of the review of the complaint, the doctor was brought to disciplinary responsibility. After that, the documentator referred Kateryna to a friendly doctor who provided her with the necessary medical care.
