The girl was refused registration as pregnant for prenatal care at the maternity welfare center due to her HIV-positive status. Moreover, Inna was referred to the local AIDS center instead, where the service required was not even available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the REACtor\u2019s intervention, it was explained to the gynecologists at the center that their actions were discriminatory because it was against regulations to divide pregnant women into categories based on their health status, thus making a distinction between &#8220;HIV patients&#8221; and &#8220;those who are well and healthy&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the maternity welfare center\u2019s authorities were reminded that Inna had the right to sue them over the refusal to register her.
